NATURAL CREATIONS Mystix
The Medical Center of Aurora, which serves the Denver Metro area, recently remodeled one of its patient floors to create a space that felt less institutional and more “home-like”.
The corridors, awash in a warm patchwork of autumnal earth tones, awaken the senses at every turn. Cinnamon, sand, russet and rye – the mix of bold and muted colors is as comfortable and welcoming as a country quilt. And that’s just what interior designer Michael E. Gold intended.
A talented quilter for many years, Michael combined NATURAL CREATIONS EarthCuts Luxury Vinyl Tile kashmir madras and NATURAL CREATIONS Mystix Luxury Vinyl Tile sideline warm brown to create a series of center medallions. For the surrounding field, he chose ColorArt MEDINTONE Sheet milk chocolate and sand light. “I wanted to create the same movement and intriguing shapes seen in the wonderfully complex patterns of decorative quilts,” he said. “I loved what Armstrong offered in LVT – it was new, innovative, and beautiful.”
Long-Term Value & Low Maintenance
With maintenance always an important concern in a healthcare environment, Aurora’s administrators wanted flooring that offered long-term value and cost-effective maintenance. Armstrong’s LVT and sheet products deliver excellent durability and a UV-cured coating that provides low-maintenance options.
Aurora’s Director of Facilities, Greg Menke said, “This floor has been installed for almost two years, and we continue to get super comments. It has maintained its original look, feel, and condition with routine floor care.”
Greg also noted that the installation was greatly eased by a broad selection of products in the same thickness. “Armstrong is always my first choice when looking for flooring options and design flexibility,” he added.
