During renovations to the Hornell Intermediate School in western New York State, Interior Designer Ken Morgan wanted to bring much needed color and life to the uninspiring corridors inside the brick structure. Ken’s design of sunny maple wood inlaid with sweeping arcs of bright, primary colors is cheerful, youthful, and dynamic.
Distinctive Colors and Design
The distinctive design incorporates DecorArt REJUVENATIONS TimberLine Sheet in maple you better and ColorArt MEDINTONE Sheet in violet mist, gold dust mid, and terracotta.
“The new design is reactionary to the long corridors,” said Morgan. “The wood flooring look is desired in institutional buildings because of the warmth it brings to a space.” With a wood-look sheet, the desired aesthetic was achieved without the maintenance concerns, cost, or challenges created by installing real wood. Pops of accent colors were chosen to contrast with the school’s brick façade.
The proven performance of Armstrong sheet holds up to the constant traffic of energetic students jostling each other through hallways. Armstrong’s sheet portfolio offers a wide choice of colors and patterns that gives designers freedom to create unique floors, while providing school districts with cost-effective, durable surfaces.
Pleased with the look and performance of the flooring, Morgan said, “Armstrong sheet products met and exceeded our expectations. Armstrong’s commitment to the design community is unmatched.”
