Recycling Programs for Products & Samples

At Armstrong Flooring our On&On™ Recycling Program helps you save money while also keeping flooring materials out of landfills. A national program, On&On Recycling is a closed-loop process, meaning reclaimed materials are recycled into new Armstrong flooring. The On&On Recycling Program is flexible – reclaiming our LVT and VCT flooring as well as other qualified products, including competitors’ products, with or without adhesive.

Through On&On, Armstrong Flooring and our customers have saved over 150 million pounds of material!

Samples Recycling Program Pilot

In partnership with the IIDA Mid-America Chapter, Armstrong Flooring introduces a new way to recycle flooring samples. As part of the Samples Recycling Program, architecture and design firms utilize recycling boxes to collect samples in-house. Students are then invited to the firms for educational events, like CEUs, where they can earn professional learning credits, as well as keep the recycled samples for use in design projects as part of their higher learning. This program provides a mutual benefit across three groups:

A&D Firm: Reduce library waste, and recruit future employees
Manufacturer: Enable samples to be recycled, and introduce design students to products
Students: Experience real-world learning opportunities, and use samples for design projects

Additionally, this program addresses all three sustainability pillars:

People: Educate design students
Planet: Responsible use of resources
Prosperity: Develop future generation of employees

Save a Sample! for Art

Armstrong Flooring is an official sponsor of Save a Sample! for Art, whose mission is to divert architectural and design samples and other materials from landfills. This initiative allows design firms to easily deliver excess sample products to local art programs, which use the recycled samples to create unique art that also supports fundraising.
