The Saint Philip African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Atlanta was originally established in 1875. Today, Saint Philip AME has 6,000 members, and is located in a large complex in a southeastern suburb.
In 2004, the church built a two-story atrium to connect the existing worship space with a new addition. The lobby and enclosed walkway were covered with Armstrong’s Standard EXCELON Imperial Texture VCT and Standard EXCELON MultiColor VCT – chosen for the coordinated mix-and-match color options and true through-pattern construction for long life.
The walkway is a busy hub for church-goers and visitors and receives heavy traffic daily, yet the Armstrong flooring still looks beautiful nine years after construction.
Armstrong VCT tiles made it possible to create a unique and memorable floor that was budget-friendly and easy to maintain.
