Armstrong® Commercial Flooring Reaffirms Commitment to Domestic Production

Lancaster, Pa., March 23, 2016 Armstrong Commercial Flooring has reaffirmed its commitment to American production and manufacturing. The global leader in manufacturing of residential and commercial flooring for more than 100 years announced in 2013 that production of its luxury vinyl tile products would move from China to the United States.

The original flooring plant in Lancaster, PA was chosen as the standalone North American production site. A $45 million investment to upgrade and expand the facility started in 2014. Renovation of the 30,000 square-foot building was finished in 2015 with the plant now employing 200 people.

The expansion comes at a critically important time for Armstrong and the flooring industry. With double-digit year-over-year growth, North America has become the single largest market for Luxury Vinyl Tile. The improved costs, quality and service associated with domestic production allows Armstrong to further capitalize on this essential segment in the commercial flooring market while reducing the brand’s carbon footprint with dramatically reduced transportation and shipping needs.
