When Buffalo State College decided to remodel the common areas in their dorms, they wanted a completely modern look. The design team combined geometric artwork, blonde cabinetry, two-toned wood furniture and a contemporary, wood-look resilient floor to create bright, clean living spaces that students enjoy relaxing in. The resilient flooring is from Armstrong’s Natural Creations Mystix Luxury Flooring collection in the jet pattern. Mystix jet was selected for its contemporary design and soft textile look. Added features include exceptional durability and the cleanability and easy maintenance of hard surface floors.
In keeping with the contemporary vibe of the room, the Mystix tiles were all installed in one direction, not the usual quarter-turn design you find in many commercial projects. This approach created a modern, linear visual that fits the overall decorating scheme of the space and offers an artsy appeal for today’s college students.
